ecoLove the Electric Bike is a purpose-built electric-assist bicycle with an electronic control system meant for those who want to ride faster, farther and easier than ever.
Have you heard of hybrid vehicles? They have a Petrol or a diesel engine plus an electric drive. For bursts of power like accelerating and hill climbing, they use both systems. For maximum efficiency they use electric power only. The ecoLove has similar design assets. The ecoLove combines the high torque, low horsepower human engine with a low torque, high efficiency electric motor. The result is an astonishingly energy efficient machine that helps the human engine for hill climbing, acceleration and start-up. The electric motor allows the human engine to rest during periods of constant speed. This combination works so well that the rider scarcely notices the effort needed to pedal. Ideal for small towns, resorts, exercising, commercial applications and a logical transportation for people. FEATURES

AN ADVANCED REAR-WHEEL DRIVE Unlike many electric bicycles that drive the front or rear wheel by means of a crude roller rubbing against the tire, the ecoLove's drive relies on a small second chain to power the rear wheel. With the ecoLove's secure chain and toothed belt system, there's no slippage found on friction-drive electric bikes, especially in wet conditions. Other features of the ecoLove : The battery is provided with a clamp with an integral carrying handle that's easy to remove and carry. The battery fully recharges in about six hours with a special charging system. The lead-acid battery may be recharged at any time. Just plug it in! A CHOICE OF MODELS The bike is available in several models depending on your choice from many independent bicycle dealers nation-wide. The basic kit fits most bikes, and is easy to install KEEP IN MIND Efficiency: The ecoLove power system boosts, but doesn't replace, human power. When you pedal, the efficiency of the system is dramatically increased. The more the rider pedals, the less the motor must work and the longer the battery charge will last. It takes a lot more energy to accelerate from a dead stop in high speed than low speed. Always pedal to start, and use the twist grip in the low position. Move to higher speed as needed. Safety: You are adding weight to your bicycle when you install an ecoLove Power System. This will change the riding and handling characteristics of your bicycle. You should be capable of riding the bicycle with the system installed, but not activated. The brakes should be capable of stopping the bike even with the power on. Basic bicycle handling includes proper seat height; picking the right bike, stopping by using both brakes; and scanning for traffic behind (looking over the shoulder) without swerving. Environmental Benefits Engine driven vehicles are a source of air pollution in towns and cities. In addition to their effect on our health, these gases and particles do extensive damage to crops, vegetation and wildlife. In particular, motor vehicles are a significant source of water pollution. Oil and small tire particles accumulate on roads and highways; during the rainy season, they are washed into our streams and waterways, causing damage to aquatic life. Finally, noise pollution from automotive traffic adds stress to our lives. ecoLove is quiet. Even after counting emissions from power plants, electric bicycles are several times less polluting than petrol or diesel vehicles. For every 1000 kms an electric bike is used in place of a car, an average of 60 liters of fuel is saved - and that much pollution is prevented. Calculating emissions is an inherently tricky business. There are so many variables that there are no exact numbers in this game.
Fuel Cost of Electric Bicycle 'Fuel' cost per km 12V 17Ah battery range is 16 km Usage 16 km X 600 recharges = 9600 km in two years Charging cost at 35 Watts (charger consumption) for 6 hrs 35 X 6 = 210 Whr At 4.4 Rs/kWh i.e. 0.93 Rs per charge (say 1 Re per charge) I.e. 93/16= 0.058 Rs/km (6 paise per km) Compare this with a moped. Fuel cost (Petrol + oil at 30 Rs per lt.) At 72 km/lt. 30/72 = 0.42 Rs per km (42 paise per km)
Cost for Two year operation For ecoLove (battery life 2 years) Battery 1600 Rs Charge 0.93*600=560 Rs Maintenance at 20 Rs/month = 480 Rs Interest on 9000 at 12% =2160 Rs Total 4800 say 4800/9600 = 0.5 Rs/km For moped Petrol 9600/72=133 liter = 133*30=3990 Rs Taxes, PUC etc = 200 Rs Maintenance 60 Rs / month = 1440 Rs Interest on 17000 Rs = 4080 Total = 9600 Rs say 9600/9600 = 1 Rs / km Notes 1. This may not cover the cost of engine overhaul etc. 2. Moped needs almost double capital investment. 3. Battery costs are going down steadily with increasing demand. 4. Batteries can fail prematurely and needs to be covered by a guarantee. 5. Carrying an extra battery can increase range. (Buy, borrow or rent) TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
